We must not allow the Establishment to turn the militia into a network of
informers. The militia is critical to fighting terrorism, but it needs to
fight it locally using local resources, and not involve higher-level
authorities unless or until it encounters a situation it can't handle.

Militia needs to be dispersed and not centrally controlled. Otherwise, it
can become a tool of tyranny.

There is a fine line between appropriate militia -- defense activity -- and
the "red scares" of the WWI and McCarthy eras. We do not need to demonize
innocent persons. The terrorists are few, and treating everyone as a
suspected terrorist is antithetical to the principles we are trying to defend.
