Cnhi, formed in 1997 and headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, is the parent company for daily, weekly and semiweekly newspapers published in more than 200 communities throughout the United States. The initials are an acronym for Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc.
It is the company's strategy to seek out newspapers in smaller markets with growth potential. A premium has been placed in purchasing newspapers in geographic proximity, for operational efficiency and in order to provide additional services to readers.
